Is it for me?

Energize classes are aimed at all ages (16+) and all fitness levels.

The important thing to remember is that you should work to your own ability and build up your fitness levels and stamina over time. If you have any particular health issues such as joint problems, you will be advised to keep the level low. If there are any exercises you find difficult or is uncomfortable, we will aim to provide an alternative. 

In order for your workout to be safe and effective, the level must be right for YOU. Everyone is different and what might be easy or moderate exercise for some, may be vigorous for others.  If you persevere,  you may find you can progress further over time and be able to do more than when you started out.

Get the ‘all clear’

If it has been some time since you exercised last, or are recovering from injury,  you should get the all clear from your GP before starting any exercise programme. You should also consult your GP if:

  • you have high blood pressure
  • you have heart disease
  • you have joint or mobility problems
  • you are over 60 years of age and have not exercised for a while
